Grow free food!

We recently stumbled upon a great poster from Wholefoods Market which reminded us of all the easy simple ways you can grow your own fruit and veg just from cuttings and scraps.  Perhaps you remember growing carrot tops in a saucer of water at school or planting some tomato seeds.  You’ll be surprised how quickly and easily some food scraps can grow with just a little water, light and love and many can be done on a sunny windowsill or porch.  I can’t guarantee you’ll be able to feed yourself for weeks from your new crops but it does make a fantastic activity to do with someone you are caring for, providing a daily point of focus as you watch, wait and tend to your plant(s).
